Letter from the Business Administrator

Having been a retreatant for over 25 years, St. Paul of the Cross Passionist Retreat Center has always occupied a special place in my heart. For me it’s been a place of both enlightenment and respite where I can gather with friends or spend time alone in order to deepen my faith in God. This is a special place. I’m forever drawn to the beautiful grounds, the inspiring St. Gemma meeting space, the inviting Library and the sacredness of the chapel. Each time I enter the front door, a sense of calm overcomes me. I smile with anticipation of experiencing everything I’ve been hearing people talk about!

While I’ve been involved in committees and volunteering at St Paul, when given the opportunity to serve as Business Administrator I had to say “yes.” It was a leap of faith taken because this place is special to me. The mission of the Passionists to provide spiritual care for all and to preach Christ crucified resonates with me and I want others to experience what I’ve found here.

I’m blessed to work with a truly lovely team of people. The staff here at St. Paul are true caretakers of this sacred place and their dedication to the Center and friendliness to everyone who walks in the doors continues to amaze me. The warm hospitality of all of the staff, the wonderful meals, and the simple but sufficient facilities lend to the prayerfulness of St Paul’s.

If you’ve been here then you know that the people you’ve met through the programs held here, the volunteers you meet or friends catching up in the social hall are all great additions to your life. If you haven’t been to this gem in northwest Detroit then you should come and experience the warmth, spirituality, and hospitality of St. Paul of the Cross Passionist Retreat Center.

“Abandon yourself entirely to God’s most Holy Will, leaving all cares to Him. But do with diligence the work that each day requires.”
-St. Paul of the Cross
