Endowment Fund News

It is hard to imagine several years have passed since the death of Fr. James Thoman, CP, former Retreat Director of St. Paul of the Cross.  Known as “Father Jim” by thousands of Passionist friends and benefactors throughout the U.S., his loss was especially and deeply felt here in Detroit when he died on March 17, 2010.

Building on those before him, Fr. Jim left a lasting legacy at St. Paul’s that continues as our programs grow and thrive.  Knowing that the Retreat Center was celebrating 50 years of service to the Detroit community, it was always Fr. Jim’s vision that a permanent endowment fund be set up to ensure the future of St. Paul of the Cross Passionist Retreat and Conference Center.  Henceforth, with his passing, the endowment was established in his memory.

The good news is the Endowment will ensure the future of St. Paul’s – but we still need your help.  As we remember Fr. Jim and all the good works he performed as a Passionist, please consider making a donation to the Fr. James Thoman, CP, Endowment Fund.  We can think of no better way to honor his lasting contribution to the Retreat Center and to his life of service as a Passionist.
