A Simple Lenten Ask
Lent is a time during which we return to the basic practices of our faith – prayer, fasting and almsgiving. All three of these practices help us reorient our hearts toward God, as we show our love for him in caring for our neighbors. We can renew or begin a commitment to pray every day, sharing our hearts with the Lord and reading Scripture. We can discipline our wills by fasting from different foods or practices, which reminds us that our life and strength come from God alone. And finally, we can give alms supporting those in financial need and through our prayers.
Now, more than ever, those who rely on St. Paul’s as a haven of hope and encouragement need us.
And we need you.
This year we come to you with a simple ask: to help us continue to pay our bills and most importantly to keep our sacred space ready for you to come back to.
You continue to make a difference as part of our St. Paul of the Cross family. Thank you for helping us today, so we can continue to welcome all who wish to come in the future months. “Families are the first place where the values of love and fraternity, togetherness and sharing, concern and care for others are lived out and handed on.” Pope Francis, Fratelli Tutti
